Parallel : Egypt.Wilderness.Promised Land

Ever hear about these? Egypt-Wilderness-Promised Land.

Something that I’ve learnt lately…a parallel.  Some of you might be good in bible stories….but just a brief account – In the book of exodus you can read more. Israelites were in Egypt for 400 years, not enjoying themselves…but were under slavery. The same thing with us before we had Christ – we were slaves of sin…there was no future for a slave, you are a slave, ur kids are slaves and your future is slavery. No freedom over anything…there wasn’t anything you can do. All of us know what slavery is – it is something that tied us down….it could be a bad habit, sin, strongholds, relationships, unhealthy soul ties, unforgiveness, grudge, brokenness…etc. The Israelites cried out to God and God heard them-and delivered them.

It is the parallel for us when we decided to accept Christ. We are delivered from our slavery! Salvation comes into picture.

Then, we step out of Egypt (slavery) into the wilderness.

The Israelites step out into the wilderness on their journey to the Promised Land. Just as every believer is saved, we have a promised land. But before we reach there, there is this wilderness – a training ground, a place where we need to renew our mindset, learn to trust in God, and just totally dependence on God.

Just as the Israelites were when they were in the wilderness….God was their light, God gave them food (manna and quill)…etc. When we are in the wilderness, we begin to learn to trust God, to look to God when there is something that troubles us.

It was when they came to the Red Sea – that Moses split the Red Sea – the parallel in our lives – Water Baptism.

Water baptism in our life today is a declaration that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour. He is our ever living God and provider.

Then just before they enter into the Promised Land, they crossed the river of Jordan. Parallel – baptism of the Holy Spirit. What is baptism of the Holy Spirit? It is the empowerment for our ministry and our walk in God.  

Our promised land – is not 100% free of troubles…just like the Israelites’ Promised Land. Remember the 10 spies that came back that say they were like grasshoppers among the giants. That was why they delay in going into the land that God has promised them. But you know what…your problems might make you look like a grasshopper but in the eyes of God, your problems are like grasshoppers! Your problems, anything you are facing is never too big for God! God is bigger than whatever you might ever face.  

Don’t delay and be hold back with your past (Egypt), step into the place or position where God has called you too! 

Our life is the same….we have

1. Egypt (before we were saved-in slavery to sin),

2. Red Sea – water baptism

3. Wilderness (our journey to the promised, our minds renewed and training ground)

4. Jordan River – baptism of Holy Spirit

5. Promised Land – where God wants us to be…

Don’t stay in Egypt or the wilderness anymore or delay your entering into the Promised Land. Be where God wants you to be…becoz He has provided it all.

just saw this amazing movie…

It has been ages since i watched a movie..i cant remember what was the last movie i watched…erm…Die Hard..ok, it wasnt that long but certainly, it was ages since i saw this kinda lovely dovey movie! (i’m more into action movies - die hard, bourne…)

anyway, it’s good once in a while to watch this kinda ‘romance’ movie…just makes you wanna be in love…aha…no, that was a joke…well, at least it sweeps you off your feet for an hour or two…
i wouldn’t choose to watch a romance movie over action…but there isnt much action movie lately..so, i would settle for this.

i’ve noticed, i am picky with the things i watch…especially movies…i dont simply jsut grab one and watch…normally, it comes with the feeling…and i must say, i’m pretty good with it…when i found something i want to watch…it’s normally nice…kekeke…

ok, found some nice screenshots..hope you all enjoy it..and maybe can spare some time to watch it..because it’s really nice..

oo..forgot to intro the cast - Diane Keaton, Mandy Moore,Gabriel Macht,Tom Everett Scott, Lauren Graham, Piper Perabo,Stephen Collins.

it is more of a mother daughters kinda movie…

how the mom (diane keaton) loves her daughters…

recognize her? kekeke….gilmore girls!! it did took me til half of the series that i realised it was her! haha…ok..thats the sister…

and the boyfriend..aha..there is 2 guys actually but i like this one more..so…

it is so worth watching!!
