faith for finances

church was superb today! we started off by leaders’ pre-service worship and then service started by having testimonies on finances..how God can move in our finances. then move to praise and worship which was superb! even tho we were singing old songs…but the presence of God is there…it is so tangible. then sermon….sermon was about –> faith for finances.

one thing for sure - God is not against us having finances but God is against us being greedy, stingy and covetous!

greedy - u want everything

stingy - you dont want to give

covetous - you want other people’s things

so,  if there are anyone who tells you that in order to be close to God, you need to be poor! that is a BIG BIG LIE!!! God has no intention for us to be poor and we are no use if we are poor. how can the gospel be preached out if all the people in church is poor. God has given us a tool - money - as a tool on earth. But if you start worshipping the tool, then it’s wrong. money is not the root of all evil, but the love of money is the root of all evil.

More than that, God wants to bless us so much more that we cannot contain that we have to give away!

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. ”Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:7-11

realise that…

no 1 - God is our source.

As a student, we might often misunderstand that our parents are our source, the loan or scholarship is our source. but if this is our mindset, then when the source one day dries up - oh no! where can we get our finances? But if God is our source - He will never run dry! And you can expect to see supernatural supply from God! the only good in this universe is God. and God is only good - there is no evil in God. God wants to lavish you with all the blessings and all we need to do it believe and receive it. All things from God is good. God is not trying to keep you away from being prosperous!

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. 2 cor 8:9

Was Jesus poor when He came to earth? Could a poor man feeds 5 thousands with just 5 loaves and 2 bread? and later feeds 7 thousands? And when the disciples gather back the leftover, it was more than what they began with. But why in the verse it says, that he became poor? It was on the cross that He took all our curses (sin, sickness, diseases, infirmities, proverty) and died for us. He took all our proverty onto the cross that  through him, we might become rich!  AMEN!!!!

no. 2 - God operates by principles - Sowing and Reaping. Through out the gospels, you can hear Jesus preach about sowing and reaping. one secret -> when you give into the kingdom of God - u’ll receive back a multiply! Give as God lead you. Each time we sow into the kingdom of God, it is like planing a seed and you know, you are sowing on good grounds (kingdom of God), it will one day grow and bear fruits and you’ll receive the harvest even more than what you have put into!

 one scripture that we have been reading each time before we give out tithe and offering. And I believe if we give onto God, He’ll open doors to bless us even more!

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38

one way, start with tithes.

10Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
      That there may be food in My house,
      And try Me now in this,”
      Says the LORD of hosts,

      “ If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
      And pour out for you such blessing
      That there will not be room enough to receive it.
       11 “ And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
      So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
      Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”
      Says the LORD of hosts;
       12 And all nations will call you blessed,
      For you will be a delightful land,”
      Says the LORD of hosts. ( Malachi 3:10-12)

I posted one about this before. Do you know, this is the only place in the whole bible that says you can TEST God! well, if you dont believe it, try God - give tithes and see if God will not poud out so much blessings that you cannot contain! and make sure there is no devourers and that all your finances will bear more finances and people will call you blessed!
