memorable tuesday

memorable? Quite! W-H-Y?

One thing it that we had our first snow for the winter!!! Even though the locals here said it’s pretty late because normally it starts to snow early Nov but now, it’s near 3rd week. *chills* Even though it snowed, it didnt cover the street making it pure white, but it melted once it touched the street turning everywhere into wet and muddy!!

Other than that, the other 3 of my siblings manage to go meet their star!

Then after the whole day’s class, came back and found that our hot water tap has been sealed tight. Reason was it was leaking. Duh!!! It has been leaking for the past 2 years and only now they want to take measures!?!? No hot water to bath or wash face…. the comments can go on and on…so many things they are not doing properly with their head. This is just a small thing to start with…

But the best of the day must be the SNOW!!!! Anyway else had started to snow?? =p Snowing means need to change my jacket, use gloves and winter boots!!! eeee… :???:

sleepy saturday

What a week!!! It’s definately one of the heaviest week I’ve felt. Lots of conflict, mixture of feelings, responsibilities and good/bad news. I do not want to go in the conflicts…it’s there in everyone’s life. What matters is how one faces with it and what one will do in the future to prevent it

Today, went to the new shopping mall in Kursk, it’s called Pushkinskii. I wanted to buy something, anything! Maybe a new pair of shoes, a new skirt? Blouse? But ended up getting candies (gummies). Not sure what it’s really called, it’s not really sweets, it’s more like..soft candy..chewy stuff…like gummies. Then, wanted to have lunch there but…gee..it’s so expensive…so we decided to walk one round, since I’ve not been there. I’m so grateful for the two friends that accompanied me! kekeke…even tho I didnt manage to buy anything, I saw something really cool….

I spotted something that was going to show in the cineplex there…here’s the poster.

From far, I was thinking, wow, that couple looks nice. A very nice poster, definately the movie should be nice but as I walked closer…eee!! Aren’t they familiar?? Ok, maybe not cause I’ve never seen them before. But I saw their trailer before, that’s why it looks familiar! Haha….the guy behind is really distint…so pale, with dark eyes and bloody lips. *ahem* Still clueless?? Never mind, I’ll leave you to figure it out. Well,, you have the name of the movie at the bottom of the poster, in russian, go figure it out! Anyway, can’t wait to watch Quantum of Solace and of course this movie in the poster.

That’s my dinner last night. It’s sliced ginger chicken wings with soya sauce. Yummy!! Love the ginger taste…really gives some warm to the cold weather. And of course it’ll be best to go with fried egg! Eggs…me fav.

Since the weather outside is so gloomy now, temperature maybe around 3-5 degree, it’s perfect for an afternoon nap!

Regarding the poster, if you’re really interested, try going to Google Translation and type in this - Сумерки and translate from Russian to English and u’ll find out the title of the movie!

ThursdayWednesday’s post

It’s been a few days and I feel it’s about time I blog….before all my readers starts to stop visiting me. I am so grateful for the comments given and also for the visits. Yay!!

Anyway, weather is really crazy lately, it can be as cold as -2 in the morning and then is so warm (abt 3-5degree) in the afternoon and evening. So, I’ll be wearing thick, prepared for the cold, by the time the class finishes, I’ll be sweating on the way back because it’s warmer.

I was watching Heroes season 3 episode 7…so nice!!! The latest episode is 8, and well, I haven’t got it yet, still waiting for it to circulate around…but sadly to say, I read the spoiler but still, I can’t wait to watch the real thing. What will happen to Peter? How about Sylar? Honestly, I think I read more than episode 8 spoiler, maybe I read till end of the first half of the season. Bad of me but I’m amazed at how the writer could come up with such a story!
Any Heroes fan here?

Just finished my Clinical Immunology classes/rotation/cycle. Tomorrow starts a new cycle - Peds Infectious Disease. It’s going to be at one of the largest hospital in the city but the bus there…ewe..packed!!!! It’s either that I have to go super early or be late.

Winter holidays… hehehe…no ideas yet, no confirmed plans, maybe I’ll just stay in my room and grow mushroom or go to Italy! Keeping my fingers crossed. Right now, I dont have close friends who plans to go Italy..sometimes in the context of travelling, you just need to go with someone you are comfortable with…then it’ll be fun, and no stress. :???:

things that matters

There are a lot of things that can happen in a day. From the things nearest to us till the things that seemed far away or maybe really has nothing to do with us. For example someone didnt win his match today. It is something that happened, affected himself and the people he’s with but us???? If you look into it, it really has nothing to do with us.

I wanted to follow the match between Federer and Simon today but I was too tired and decided to go and have a nap. After I woke up, I totally forgotten about the match until I saw a sms saying that history seemed to be repeating itself. Haha…of course I was a bit sad, just for one moment (one second) but then, in any matches, there are people that win and lost. No big deal.

It does’t matter if

who wins the next match, or if your favourite player lost in a match
or if your favourite artist is getting married :???:
or if the album is no longer no.1 in the chart
or someone famous person bought a house somewhere

What really matters is..

when someone does now know God’s promises for them and lives so recklessly,
when they are ignoring His grace and His love for them,
when someone dies without knowing God.

A christian walk is so EASY when you come to realised what Jesus had finished on the cross. The Father’s grace for us every single day surpasses anything that we can ever encounter in our life, our work, our relationships… The grace that enables us to receive His blessings and all the promises that are in the Bible.

We can live all our lives following our favourite player, favourite singer/actor/actress and when those things passes away, or circumstances changes, you will find emptiness in you because these things cannot fill the place for God that is in everyone’s heart. In the Bible it says, everyone has a knowledge of God because He is our creator. The creation knows the creator, but it just the the matter if they see God or not. Everyone at a point in their life will have the question - is there a God? And there is only one living God! Only when God is placed in that place in our heart, then everything will be filled one at a time and you’ll begin to see your life transformed more and more like Jesus, moving from glory to glory! (2 cor 3:17-18)

more cooking

Ok, this is already a very late post that I was supposed to blog long ago but always was lazy to get the pictures from the camera. Finally, yesterday, I upload the pictures and here it is. It’s another great moment of my ‘cooking group’ as we gather together to cook something special for our friend, Ik’s birthday. Also, a good reason for cooking good and quality food. We started around 3pm and finished cooking by 6. Amazing! But we manage to prepare 5 dishes.

The theme was Fried Food but of course if it’s only fried stuff, it’ll be heaty. So some fresh veges and salad we added.

So, firstly, salad. A very special and our great production, it’s 4 layer salad which consist of bigroot on the top (really sweet), then a layer of sliced carrot, crabmeat and egg with mayo in the middle, and finally potato at the bottom. Very sweet and healthy!

Next up, is chicken - I tried to make KFC Spicy chicken but no matter how much chili powder I marinated it with, it didnt taste a bit spicy at all. I wonder what went wrong! This is my first time tying this recipe using breadcrumbs, egg and kentucky powder. Not bad, really tasty except no spicy taste. But I love it!

Then we have another special - deep fried cauliflower and bringal coated with kentucky powder, breadcrumbs and egg.

Next, we have another spicy dish - egg sambal! One of our cooking group favourite. Easy to make and there is egg! My favourite!

Finally, a vege to cool us down…mix vege with mushroom and celery. Super tasty. And definately my favourite too! I love vegies..and celery, and mushroom. Yummy!!!

Of course, a birthday celebration cannot be without the cake! A special chocolate banana cake that we ordered from a friend. Super delicious!

A slice…it’s actually chocolate cake with bananas at the middle but it’s really one of the best choc cake I’ve tasted. Not too sweet, just perfect.

Sometimes I wonder the reason we want to cook for a special occasion. It’s most of the a reason to cook special dishes and something out of the ordinary stuff that we cook everyday. And also something of my own favourite. The next event..maybe New Year?

Harvest Times in my mail

Yesterday, someone came and knocked on my door, reluctantly I went to open the door, a friend from church came to visit, who is also staying in the same hostel. In her hands were a mail for me…I looked at it, expecting it to be the normal newsletter I receive from Joyce Meyer Ministry but this one was thicker and I looked at the address…

YAPPIE!!! It’s Harvest Times, a quarterly christian magazine produced by City Harvest Church Singapore. I was estaticaly! I didnt know my subscription would actually got through!

I first saw the magazine in Xuan’s apartment and was really excited about it…then inside it says if we want to subscribe can always email or fax. At the same time, Jasmine also was there and she was enjoying the articles inside. So I suggested that we try to subscribe and before I came over to Russia, I emailed both our addresses but wasn’t really expecting it…

It’s so amazing! I’m still very excited about it! I know, alot of people might not necessary agree with how the church is preaching yada yada..But to me, as long as they are preaching the message of God, and getting people to Jesus, I dont think anyone has any right to criticize about another church….because everyone is only accountable to God for their ministry. If they are teaching the wrong doctrines or whatever, they are to asnwer to God and we are not to point fingers….

Anyway, I just finished watching The Four. A lot of people is asking me, why do I have time to watch! I have been thinking about it too..wondering if Russia’s time is slower than other places because I must admit, time at home flies so fast, and I couldnt get alot of things done in a day but here, there are so much extra time that sometimes I dont know what to do. eg, now…

Anyway, last night, I was thinking before I sleep, why do I have extra time to watch series. it’s not like I dont study. I do!! I cook, I wash, I clean, I eat, I sleep, I study…and I still have time to watch one or two or more episodes a day. WHY!! I only manage to conclude….it’s the room!

ROOM??

Size of the room is SMALL. Everything is within reach so I save the few seconds and minutes and there I have the extra time that I dont have at home. The time to go to the toilet and back to my table is maybe just a minute. If i want to drink, I dont need to walk to the kitchen, it’s within reach. It might just take 10 sec to go to my fridge, and back to my table. From my study table to my bed, 3 seconds. Amazing? Very! I finally realized that with those small seconds and minutes that I manage to save, that is how I have extra time to watch series!

Funny? I think so too

Btw, weather out there is currently -4 degrees. Freezing eh..but praise God, this year’s central heating is good and the room is warm.

in the state of rest

Wow, it’s already November. 2 more months till we finish 2008. I cannot believe this year past so fast. I’ve started to notice that we’re moving really fast towards the end of 2008 and it kinda scare me. Sort of remind me of how old I am getting.

Currently watching…

The Four or it’s also known as  少年四大名捕. I just find this year’s TVB production to be really good, lots of nice drama series. This is by the young 4 actors of TVB - Lam Fung, Sammul Chan, Ron Ng and Kenneth Ma. Just too bad Bosco isnt in side. Anyway it’s based on the martial arts novels written by Wen Ruian.

But before I can continue watching, going to do my ‘homework’….doing case history of a petient..compiling the info after clerking the patient. Not fun cause a lot to write….

It’s getting really cold these few days, and suspected the lowest degree to be -6 by end of the week. Yesterday morning, on the way to class, all the puddle at the road side were frozen and windowshield were also icy…. *shiver* Anyway, cold is good! aha…at least you wont sweat…

P/S : with all these homework to do, it’s not really in a state of rest..aha…just that for the past week, I was really in the state of rest…now got to get out and do some work before I turned into a… pig?
