winter is here

It’s predicted that this week’s lowest temperature will be -1 degree. *shiver* But at the moment, it is ok, just chill only.

Today is Nov 4th, it’s a public holiday! Because it’s Unity Day. Haha…yay, a time to really relax at home….it’s a long awaited holiday, since the semester started, we didnt have any breaks or holiday, this is the first. And the next will be new year.

Anyway, found this nice video/song by Chris Tomlin -Take My Life.

Plans for today? Time pass very fast, now it’s already noon. I feel like I want to sleep for the whole day but woke up right on time - after 8 hours sleep. Made some nice french toast with tuna for roomie and I. Then blogging…still not very satisied with my blog template but I guess for now, it’s going tho be this, until I find a better one…sometimes I hate being such perfectionist that is why I am trying to compromise some stuff about the blog. : ???:

Shanghai Master Cup starts next Monday. Nadal has decided to pull put due to several reasons he mentioned on his official site. No news from Federer, so most probably he’ll be playing. Gilles Simon will take Nadal’s place as one of the 8 players in the Master Cup.

Last night I watched Camp Rock…not my type of movie..I would still prefer High School Musical. Hope I’ll get to watch HSM 3. Also, I think soon Twilight The Movie will be coming out?! Anyone can tell me the exact date?

october babies

It’s another Group Makan - this time it’s celebrating Shoo Hao’s birthday, along with another 2 October babies in the group - Ik and Kelvin. I was quite surprised when everyone was so exciting and agreed on the first time this ‘project’ was proposed. I didnt know what to make at first, I mean, I’m not that good with cooking…anyway, here are the food on that day..

Firstly it is the salad - chinese cabbage with shreaded chicken meat and pineapple and a touch of mayo. Perfect for the starter…

Baked fish, perfectly marinated with soy sauce covered with ginger, sliced mushroom and tomatoes. Yummy!

Fried vege with egg with a touch of tomyam…a perfect combination.

this is mine! aha…my chicken kurma! Chicken with potatoes, bendi and tomatoes.

This is one of my favourite for the night!!! It’s grilled chicken, tasted so nice, the meat was so soft! Perfectly cooked!

Now this is something really special, and normally is not in our menu - grilled pork (leg?). It’s tender, very nicely marinated and of coz it’s delicous!!

Of course, the highlight - Agar-agar by our expert, also the photographer for the night!

And finally- the toast!!! Notice, my cup was missing, and there is this ‘invisible cup’ that 2 people were holding! aha..  It’s a great way to end October..

Meaning 2 more months before end of the year…

Been watching…

Eureka - Season 3. It’s really one of my favourite series, it’s made by Sci Fi and I think it was showing on Astro, somewhere on the channel about Science. Haha.. :opps: Paiseh. But I only saw the preview but manage to watch it here! yay! Last year, someone brought it to Kursk - season 1 and half of season 2. This semester, some students downloaded season 3 but only halfway and  I manage to get my hands on it! Yippie!!! Really amazing what science can do!

Heroes - Season 3 One of my favourite series of all time. In season 3 of Heroes, new characters coming up and the old ones - well, their power are evolving, getting stronger and some, out of control. And as for normal human who does not have any power, they are now looking for ways to get some supernatural power for themselves. New plot and it is getting more and more complicated. A new line is now draw between the good, and the villains. My favourite characters are Hiro, Sylar an Peter! aha…all the main casts!

Catch me Now - Or - 原來愛上賊 . It’s definately a nice drama, a new type style that TVB is trying to bring. It’s 20 episode but the ending, well you can sort of guess, nothing good can come out of thieves…even if they are doing it for a good reason.

Currently Watching…

Last One Standing - A TVB drama. Still on episode 2. Someone about the guy on the right being framed for murder and was sent to jail for 10 years. Now after 10 years, he is released and is trying to find who is the one that framed him. Of course it is obvious that it’s the other main actor…but the fun part is the twist in the drama as it unfolds!

Passover, The Significance

Ever heard about the Passover? It is found in Exodus 12. It is the day that God saved His people, from Egypt. It begins with the 10 Plague that hit Egypt with the last plague, that was killing of all the firstborn. The Israelites were instructed to mark the doorposts of their homes with the blood of a lamb, and upon seeing this, the spirit of the Lord passed over these homes, hence the term “passover”.
Often we always think it is just an event in the Bible, a story, but really, it is more than that.

It is amazing how the old testament all points to Jesus.
When men (adam) first fell, God already had a plan to restore the broken relationship back.
And everything that God did in the Old testament is a shadow of Jesus’ coming! Amazing!!

Wokie, let’s be marvelled with God’s wonders…lets start –

1. It is the first step of getting saved – is to believe that we need a saviour. A beginning of our walk in the new covenant.
2. The lamb of Passover is reserved for 4 days before being offered. It is placed in front of the family’s house so everyone will know that this is the lamb that will cover their sin. Jesus prayed 4 days in the temple before He was crucified and people saw Him.
3. The Lamb has to be without blemished. Jesus was examined by Herod, Pilate, and Caiaphas and found not guilty.
4. It has to be the lamb of 1st year. Meaning a young lamb! Jesus was the only Son of God and He came once.
5. It had to be male lamb. Sin entered through man.
6. Every household needed a lamb. Jesus died for you and me. It is a personally thing!
7. The lamb was to be killed between evening of the day till the next day. Jesus died in the middle of evening.
8. The whole assembly must kill their lamb. Jesus died for all.
9. The blood was applied to the door post. It symbolizes the cross.
10. Lamb had to be eaten. It is us partaking the body of Christ.
11. It has to be eaten quickly because they were leaving Egypt the very next day. It is to show that we must get out of our sin quickly!
12. This is the Lord’s passover. God’s redemptive plan for mankind.
13. The whole thing was done in evening. Jesus came and the last meal – Last Supper – evening.
14. no bone of the lamb should be broken. Jesus’ bone will not be broken. It was clearly only His blood that make atonement (cleaning) of our sin.
15. Lamb was killed outside the city. Jesus was crucified outside of the city.

Every year, they celebrate this feast of Passover! It is to remember the day that God brought them out of Egypt! They are all to go to Jerusalem to offer the lamb. But, if there are Israelites that were not in Jerusalem, they were to offer a shank (thigh) of the lamb.
Isaiah 53:1 – arm of the Lord ( Hebrew Zeroah = arm)
Symbolizing that if you are outside the fellowship for Christ, the arm of the Lord is not too short to save!

more lambie

Yea, thanks to Johnny, I got more pictures of the lamb, now it’s the black lamb…black sheep? aha…anyway, those were taken earlier in the day, before class starts. I was kinda scared at first when I took the leaves and saw them come running towards me….sort of reminded me of Scooby..anyway….

Here, we were feeding them, still I think they are kinda ‘kacang lupakan kulit’ because once you have no leaves in your hands, they’ll just walk away, and not even rememeber that you once fed them! BTW, I think it’s sheep, not lamb. Coz lamb are less than 1 year old while sheep are older than that. Which will bring to my next post…something I want to share about the Lamb of God!

Currently reading this fantastic book - Face to face with God by Bill Johnson. Amazing book! In cell group, we just finished another book by Bill Johnson- When Heaven Invades Earth.

This book is amazing, about encounter with God, favour with God. Well, I just read till the second chapter and it’s already boombing! One of many things that I’ve learnt is making the things we know into practise. You see, we know a lot of things about God, - healing, prosperity, favour, all His promises in the bible. And if we only know them, it’ll be like a theory to us. But once we start to practise it, we’ll experience it and it’ll be a testimony!! A living testimony.

And you begin to wonder, if the things that God promised will come true….well, turn to Isaiah 55:11

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it

Here, you’ll see that His words will no return to Him void but will accomplish, and not only accomplish but prosper too! Amen!!!

lame? lamb?

Taking another outing after class, another photgraphy session. Nearby the hospital there was a big park, so we went there, to take pictures…pictures courtesy of Johnny.

Another group picture - yay! all 11 of us are present! Isnt the playgound BIG? Never saw such big slides…like a big puzzle.

Then, walking to another side, there were actually lamb there…dont know if it’s lamb or sheep or goat. Should be sheep coz lamb are baby sheep? aha…a bit confused.

We are feeding the lamb with leaves. There were actually black sheep but was at the other side…so, we sort of play and feed this white one. When they saw you coming with leaves in your hand, they’ll walk towards you…because they want to eat. Then, right after eating, they’ll turn away and leave you. Which struck me - lamb and dogs aren’t the same. Dogs will continue to be with you, teman you and remember you..but not lamb. So, I miss scooby & hei gou.

Later we were waiting for the tram and I asked if we should take a ’sarang-hae’ picture..u know those that you make love sign with your hand..then K said it was lame. So, I asked if that was more lame or the jumping picture was more lame - he said equivalent. Then E added - It was more lame taking with the lamb.  ahha…lamb, lame…

The Visitor

We had a visitation today…from BIG people all the way from Msia. Well, we sort of knew about it at the beginning of the week, just didnt sink into us how BIG they are. It’s actually called The Delegates. Ok, we are still not sure why they are here - the delegates include 5 people - Health Ministry Director General Dr Ismail Merican and 4 of his team members! Most of them are senior members of the MMC. BIG people, ok! No jokes!!

Dr.Ismail Merican in KSMU Russia
the visitors

The meeting was held in one of the largest meeting hall in the university, and it was compulsory for 5th and 6th year medical students and group leaders of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students. But as I see, not all the people that were supposed to come turned up. That is not the whole point….the point is about the purpose of the meeting.

Still very unclear.

There was a very inspiring speech about our future prospect as a doctor in Malaysia. Very inspiring, I must admit. With all good promises and talking about the benefits of returning to Malaysia, the privilages…all sugar coated words, but the reality isn’t as nice, that everyone knows deep in their heart even though they would like to believe the inspiring speech.

Next, there were something like a question and asnwer session. A few questions were raised about the possibility of derecognization of Russian Medical university and the real purpose of their visit this time. Well, we got our answers but I kinda doubt it if they were true, I mean, if they really are going to derecognize the Russian Medical University, they aren’t just going to announce it to us now..but, as Dr. Ismail Merican said, it’s unlikely. So, no worries for us and the juniors. Moving on, they said it’s just a visit for evaluating the system here…something they should be doing  and has been doing frequnetly. Visiting different medical universities in different countries.

the students

Then, there were questions about Internship and we were directed to visit their official website MMC. We were asked to download the Housemanship Guidebook under Internship. hehe…but learnt something really cool - rupanya, non-malaysian citizen cant work as houseman in Malaysia! hoho…but who would want to come to Malaysia to work! aha…but it does feel like a privilages, doest it? aha…
